Sokoto Government Spends Three Billion Naira on Scholarship

Altine Shehu Kajiji, Executive Chairman, Sokoto Scholarship Board made this known to men of the press. He said the money was used in paying tuition fees, accommodation, feeding and pocket money for over 400 indigenous students studying abroad.
Kajiji also said that part of the money was also used to settle registration fees and allowances of about 18,000 local students.
According to the Nation News, while addressing 31 students billed to study Medicine in Sudan, Kajiji assured the students they would lack nothing during their period of study. He gave them an insight of what they should expect during their stay abroad.
The parents of some of the students expressed appreciation to the government for selecting their children for the training and they also thanked the governor of the state, Aminu Tambuwal and Kajiji for ensuring that the beneficiaries were selected on merit without any political interference.
