Tyson Fury explains why he fears he will NEVER fight Anthony Joshua and apologises to the fans as he prepares for Deontay Wilder rematch

Tyson Fury has explained why he feels he will NEVER fight Anthony Joshua and apologised to boxing fans.

Although a rematch with Deontay Wilder has been mooted, the Brit has clamoured for a fight against Joshua for years; as much to satisfy the public demand as to prove to the world he is the best heavyweight.

Fury is not hopeful of a fight with Joshua any time soon

However, it appears as though the 30-year-old is resigned to never fighting Joshua after watching a fight between his British rival and the Bronze Bomber fail to materialise.

“I’ve already beat Wilder, so that is one down,” he told BT Sport.

“And I will do the same to Joshua, if given the chance. But I don’t think it’s going to happen.

“And I am sorry to disappoint the sports fans but Joshua – even with two hammers in each hand – could never beat Tyson Fury and they know it!”

Fury was controversially denied a sensational victory against Wilder in LA

Ever since the Olympian’s incredible rise to unified world champion in 2017, Fury has practically begged for a fight to be made between the pair.

Having held all the heavyweight world titles himself for six months, the ‘Gypsy King’ knows the pressure that comes with having a target on your back.

However, his willingness to fight literally anyone was perfectly exemplified when he travelled to Los Angeles and was controversially awarded a draw against WBC champion Wilder.

The American was scheduled to face Joshua in the summer of 2018, but a series of excuses emerged as to why the fight never happened and ‘AJ’ fought Alexander Povetkin instead.

Joshua knocked the 39-year-old out at Wembley

And now, Fury feels as though Eddie Hearn and Matchroom could be about to pull the exact same trick to him.

He added: “They know that, they’re not silly and it is a business as well. So they’re not going to take the fight – simple as.

“They may say they’re going to take the fight, but they’ll talk about it and fight someone else – like they keep doing.

“But that fight ain’t [sic] going to happen so I’m not holding my breath at all.”
